It will be an interesting comparison of results from the three count downs that I know of this year, being the commercial MMM , the ABC 'a Triple J a and the original Hot 100 found on the community funded ZZZ.

Did you fill out the survey?, than the follow up one?? Do you vote every year or just listen?? Most people I talk to only answer yes to the last question
Either way MMM have taken over on the 26th....for those that want to listen to music from 20 years ago all good....I’ll still tune into JJJ on the 26th or play my own hottest 100.

My list is pretty lame, it just what come to my mind.
I should have had a King Gizzard, a Dune Rats, maybe another Gang of Youths, Million Man I’m getting used as I’ve voted for the rubens in other years in there......
Next year I’m on a mission to expand to raw New Aussie talent, problem is I don’t have a music bone in the body.

In all honesty, I have kinda lost some enthusiasm for the hottest 100 in recent years - starting to feel a bit like Grandpa Simpson myself. Used to listen to the 100 in the 90's and early 2000's and nearly every song was a winner to me. Now Im lucky to hear maybe 5 songs in the list that grab me. Im still stuck in the 90's rock/grunge timeline [biggrin]

yeah , I'm kinda with you , Shanegtr , I think the jjj dj's at the time heavily influence airplay , but I don't listen to any other radio station other than aunty.
I feel the same has happened to Eurovision song contest.
I used to tune in to that too long ago on short wave radio before it was ever transmitted to Australia.
as usual anything good that the ABC produces is overtaken and destroyed, glad that triple j can hold its head above that.
Australian Music......We love it!

Funny how sometimes I think I’m the only person over 30 listening to the j’s. I’m very similar age to you - 1970 Vintage. Been listening to JJJ since Razor and Robins and then Maynard in the morning followed by Angela Curtains (pronounced Cur-tanes but Maynard called her Angular Curtains) 😊
For those stuck in a time warp, expand your horizons and listen to some new Indy music. I still love listening to Classical music, other things like Jazz, Frank Sinatra and all sorts of stuff but I give modern music a go too. Some of its crap, but there’s some gems in there. Do yourself a favour and stop being such a stick in the mud - you might be surprised.

So who's listening? How many have you picked so far?
Got to say it's been a bloody good countdown so far, really enjoying it. Got 4of my top 10 played so far with 1 at least to go I think.
Thanks to Grey Ghost who let me play the first half at his place - I'm sure he's never heard any of the songs. 😁
Back at home with a few beers now, music cranked up, SWMBO elsewhere for the weekend - very happy. 👍

I'm not even close to JJJ's demographic - my kids are closer at 20 and 22 but I've been listening to the J's since I was in High School and still love the new music they play. I am less keen on the Teeny Bopper commersial stuff to say the least.
My musical tastes range from Classical, to Jass, modern Indy like what they play on JJJ, Hip Hop, Dub Step, Electronic Dance, etc. Only crap I won't listen to at all is Country and Western - that stuff just makes me want to puke... 😁

Well done though I don't agree . Taste is individual. If we all agreed life would be boringly stupefying. Me I go from some classical , psych , punk alt country and Barry adamson if I want jazz.
