This happened to a friends Hilux D/C ute after his 1st off road trip but his went the opposite way & the fiber glass canopy started hitting on the back of the vehicle cab.

I also came across a Hilux camper on a dual cab chassis with the same issue once.
Had to laugh too.

I am not sure what the actual weights you are supposed to have on the back of a twin cab Hilux but I do know it is not that much and loading one up with a thumping big camper is ludicrous, Even empty those things look to be too heavy and you can just imagine how much those things get loaded up by the backpacker Mob.

Tritoo's have a bit of a reputation for that.....

Way back in 1966 I remember my workshop instructor telling us ..........."don't weld across the box section as it creates a weak/failure point, weld along the edges as you've got the whole width of the box to support the load etc. " ............ Seems that 40 years later Mitsubishi had forgotten this 'welding 101' lesson and totally stuffed up the front tray chassis mounts on the ML/MN Triton. Hard to believe really that a multi billion dollar company could be so incompetent.
Deano.

I remember that thread! Saved it for posterity as lesson on what you should not to do to a 130. Gotta love that rear overhang....
