Prospeed Light Bracket and Stedi Lights

We tend to avoid night driving as far as possible, especially when outback and rarely travel open roads at night either. So "proper" large spotlights such as Fyrlyts or a huge lightbar seemed unnecessary for my requirements. However I still felt that some additional light would be useful for those few times and for when offroad or getting to camp sites. Stedi make a nice range of good quality work lights, spotlights and lightbars and while looking through their range I found a 6 LED unit that seemed ideal, at least on paper. It's hard to judge how much is enough for my relatively low usage but I decided that at $80 each it was worth a punt. Since fitting I've only done a quick night test so far and found a surprisingly large increase in light compared to high beam only (factory xenon), so I'm confident it's going to be exactly what I'm looking for. For the through-grill support bracket I was set to go DIY after taking note of a few good examples on the forum. However all the brackets were designed for the more traditional bottom-mount spotlights or lightbars rather than the side mounting I needed. Using some stainless steel offcuts I spent hours trying to figure out a suitable design that I could detail and get fabricated. In the end I gave it away because anything I considered was clearly going to be difficult to measure and/or expensive to get made with my limited contacts. The Prospeed bracket is designed for a range of Lazer lights and lightbars and most importantly for me, the same style of side mounting as the Stedi. The Lazer lights have an excellent reputation and do offer a great light output for the size but you also pay a very high premium. After comparing the lights to my Stedi units I realised that the Lazer ST-4 has very similar dimensions so I contacted Prospeed querying whether the bracket could suit my Stedi light. I have to say their assistance was excellent, offering to include additional spacers to suit my narrower overall width (which weren't required in the end). They were also really good with after sales advice over the phone regarding refitting the grill, which is quite a tight fit for the facelift version.

Shipping from the UK is very expensive for any Prospeed products so I decided to buy 3 sets to reduce the unit price. I don't expect to have any trouble offloading the spare sets given Prospeed's excellent reputation. The image below from the Prospeed website shows how the bracket can be used for a number of different lights (spot or lightbar).

It looks to be a very robust design that I think will handle corrugated roads well.
The front plate with slotted holes sits just outside the grill once it's on.

Here's a simplified wiring schematic I adapted from a Traxide diagram (thanks Tim) to show how I set it up. Note that my diagram doesn't show the fuses (too hard to draw). The cables from each light are joined together because the lights I used are low power. You would run separate cables to the relay if running high current spotlights.

Looks great Scott, would be interested to know if the lights would suffer from vibration, as the mounts seem to cantilever out a decent amount from their mounting position. However the bracket design seems very sturdy.

I also like the Stedi products, I’m getting a set of their LED fog lights with DRL for the ARB mounted fog lights that normally live in the factory bumper, and probably their LED headlight high beam upgrade as well. They are simply plug and play.

I already have a single row low profile led light bar that is hard mounted onto the bull bar flat top face, and set back a bit so that it doesn’t get knocked around.

the light output from this bar nicely fills the “void” between the headlights and gives a great spread for dusk/ nighttime driving. The whiter light (~4500K) is far better than the alreadygreat factory light output

Got the prospeed brackets they took a bit to get through the grill.
Still were cheaper and better than that I could find locally.
Also changed fog lights to these
LAND ROVER HIGH POWER LED & DAYTIME RUNNING FOG / DRIVING LIGHTS
But instead of using them as DRL hooked them up to come on with the hi beam.

Yes, the Prospeed bracket is a very tight fit through the facelift grill and needs a bit of force. I have had them on over corrugated roads out near Innamincka with no visible vibration. That fog replacement is interesting.

the fog lamp is a big improvement.
The DRL part I just hooked up with the high beam ,which I prefer rather than a DRL, it doesn't add much to the hi beam but better than not using that part of the lamp.

Is the price of AU $209.99 for a pair (two) of the LED DRL Fog Lamps or per lamp? The seller's ad on Ebay is not clear whether they are priced individually or as a pair. (I have sent the seller a message but thought I'd ask you as well). Also, are these lamps "plug & play" ready or do they require wiring modifications such as splicing into the existing lighting circuits? And if so, are clear and concise instructions for making the connections provided with the lamps?

The fog light part connects plug and play easy then there is one wire that is supposed to go to the fuses for a DRL connection, but I installed it with the hi beam with the LED lights which is the blue/white wire on my headlight
