Removing the Auto dipstick tube?

Trying to drop the sump on the Auto. Looks like dipstick tube needs to be detached. Are they usually welded on? Ive got my biggest spanner on it and it wont budge. Full force starts to flex the pan.

The pause for this post has stopped me from whacking the **** out of it. Any words of encouragement/guidance?

I should rename this thread 'how to remove the auto sump'

Dipstuck scenario unresolved I figure id slacken the pan bolts. All good bar one which is impossible to get to without removing a TC support. For real? I dont think im going to win at this job!

Whats the trick here?

I think you can get away with just loosening that support bracket.

Well , looks like im not ready for it this weekend. Ive filled her up with some fresh fluid and will regroup for round two in 2018

Looks like I need a long handle 30mm spanner to get the dipstick unstuck, and a gas torch in case I need to heat that sucker up.

I will need to loosen the bolts on the TC bracket and whack it back to gain access to the last sump bolt. Hopefully that works....

But what about the cross member, will the sump clear it? Looks like there is room but with the pickup tube in there, I'm starting to wonder.

A new job for you, spray it with WD40 every couple of days until it cracks easily.

Power steering, transmission and oil cooler lines had been leaking when I got it. Had to steam clean it to see what was under there! :)
