View Full Version : Before I tear the dash apart...

The fuel gauge bulb on my 110 has blown. I hate tearing dash's down as that always seems to introduce more rattles and unreliability. Before I do, is there an easy way to get to the bulb? Is it inside the gauge itself or mounted to a PCB adjacent to the gauge?

I just HAVE to get a manual.... but dash illumination can't wait.

Cheers & TIA

It's pretty simple - there are just 2 (or is it 4?) philips head screws to undo on the left and right side of the main instrument facia. This give you access to the back of all the gauges.

The lights just twist out from the back of the gauges. It will only take 10-15 mins to open it up, fix it and put it back together again.

Thanks for that! Sounds simple - which is probably the go for most things on the Defender https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I'm just used to American, which typically comes apart easily - yet never seems the same when it's back together again.
