What is this FC

Does anyone know what this vehicle actually is?

The title has it as a 62 Series 2a but clearly the body is different - is it a prototype or a body someone has just put together?

I would have to agree with you there - the Series 2 FC are all dog ugly - not like the beautiful FC 101 [thumbsupbig]

133802Sorry I missed this thread. You may fund that the vehicle is actually a Carmichael conversion. Carmichael are/were motor body builders in the UK who mainly built emergency vehicles like fire engines and ambulances. There is a very similar f/c fire engine in a museum near Christchurch NZ

As mentioned, I don't fit that catagory at all - in any dimension 😇, so not sure where that conclusion comes from. I get called a lot of thing but I have never in my life been called a dwarf, or even a short arse and I fit in them perfectly well. 😊 Mr HH is much taller (and slimmer) than me and he drives a couple of them. If you have really long legs compared to the rest of you they can be challanging, but you don't have to be tiny or anything.

At a quick glance then original looks like a Carmichael but if you look at the two they are not the same.

Carmichael made lots of variants.
The picture originally posted comes up elsewhere as FT6 Carmichael/Redwing.

The main difference seems to be the fire engines have a rounded front edge to the bonnet (de luxe type) whereas the one in the picture has a cut down standard bonnet. The bonnet also looks longer so maybe the front has been extended at some point in it's life because a larger engine has been fitted ?
