Hi I have been getting some bad noise from my running gear when going up steep inclines. But Not at any other time really. It sounds like cogs slipping. Not nice.
I was under the car the other week & saw that there is a hole in the chassis under the gearbox & a thread in the gearbox casing.
Just wondering if there is a bolt that was not installed there. 2015 defender.

I don’t know the Puma setup. However, FWIW my 1989 110 gearbox has a rubber mount between the box and chassis. The mount became loose allowing the box to move, which caused some horrible noises. But an easy fix, just tighten up the nut on the mount.

What you see is normal. No bolt required b/w GB and chassis x-member

Perhaps your intermediate shaft is fubar.

Sounds like it could (hopefully) be the traction control working. Did you notice a light on the dash at the time?
As Toxic says, there's no bolt in that cross member.

Likely there for transportation IMHO

No worries, cheers. Will put a video of the noise later. It is not traction control noise. It’s way worse.
