View Full Version : What Landy do you currently own?

edddo

I'm interested in seeing the breakdown of model ownership of AULRO members so i am starting this poll.
I only have 10 categories so have done the best I can to capture the numbers.
You can tick as many boxes as types of Landys you own.
Apologies if your Landy does not fit into any of the categories.

The other one 'is no more' as John Cleese would say - closed it as wanted to take off the D5 and add the Rangy's.

Voted for my 86 Rangie but ‘Other’ has disappeared so unless I put down ‘Series’ for the 101 I can’t add the other. Don’t really think the 101 can be lumped in with the series as they were a seperate ground up design for the Military that’s uses Rangie running gear. [emoji106][emoji4]

I have one County and one Series registered, another 2-4 Series as spares (number depends on how much constitutes a vehicle - they range from "almost complete" to "little more than a chassis").

Now now! They are an excellent vehicle provided the VCU is changed but I'm biased towards the diesels for obvious reasons. Both diesels are so different to drive though.

BMW = smooth, refined & powerful but access when working on them is cramped. (Sounds like a Range Rover [emoji2])

L-series = noisy, slow & not as powerful with easy access compared to the BMW model. (Sounds like a 300Tdi or Perkins tractor engine)

I've never driven a Freelander 2 but I have driven the Volvo 850 with the smaller 5cyl petrol engine of the same engine family and it is incredible. Would love to try a Volvo 850 T5R though [emoji41]

I voted for: 130, D2, Series & other.

This was to cover:

x1 Series III
x1 Defender 130
x1 Discovery II
x3 Freelander 1

It might have been the now deleted poll you voted in initially.
So please vote again in this one.....categories slightly different to capture rangys.
Apologies to Freelander, 101 and others ...needed more categories but limited by site.

No more mixing with those Latte drinking D3/D4 types.
I might even grow a beard??

Now, I have to arrange getting to Brisbane so I can drive it home.

D2's used to be in the Latte social strata - when did they become beard growing rough men's trucks?

Series owners out in front followed by Defenders and D2's so far.

Thought there would be more Rangies about.

D2's the highest single polling category so far.

I do like the D2 as it has a lot of modification potential as Les Richmond Automotive have shown. If the new Defender isn't the answer I wouldn't be surprised if would be traditional Defender buyers go for a D2. Though I'm surprised prices are so low. Some are below D1 prices. I saw a D2 Td5 manual on eBay with ARB bullbar, 2" lift etc. that sold for $1,700 as it had a suspected head gasket failure.

Online Polls: Use Our Free Poll Maker | SurveyMonkey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/online-polls/)

Any one here a registered and paid user of surveymonkey?

No model based logic there.
Just a way to collect some numbers given that the number of categories is limited to 10 by the site.
I wonder how many categories it would take to describe all Landy models.
