Transfer serial no.

Happy New Year people. Where can I locate the serial no. on my Defender transfer case please? Cheers.

Happy new year to you too.
Rather than visit the garage & dig around for a transfer box there somewhere, I looked thru my PDF files & was gobsmacked, that out of 3 workshop manuals, LT230T/Q & generic, none say where the s/no is located.
I did find a description in the Four Wheel Drives catalogue-
It is stamped on the L/Hand side of the gearbox ( I assume TFR) below the mainshaft rear bearing housing adjacent to the bottom cover.

Anyway, looking at the pic in the cattledog, translated, it is , if you lie looking towards the front of the vehicle, to the left of the handbrake drum on the bottom of the transfer casing.
