Has anybody tried to put an aftermarket water temp. guage in their rangie? I believe you can splice an adaptor into the top radiator hose and attach the sender there to connect to the temp. guage. Who makes these and where can you buy them? Thanks

I've fitted a VDO electric gauge to mine.
Replaced the original sender with the VDO one.
I've found the type that goes in the rad hose are a pain.
Great when you have a new hose, but if want to remove the hose, you can never get a good seal again when refitting.
So out comes the silicon, and this gets messy.

Thanks Ralf,
not many takers, but thanks for the heads up. I'll probably go the way you went.

Since I don't have the original fuel tank (gas tanks in it's place), the fuel temp guage is redundant.
So I've fitted a tacho in place of the whole combo thingy.
Looks good!
(I also have matching VDO fuel guages. One for gas, the other for either sill tank).

I have installed a Speco temp guage in my Rangie as my motor is now a Tdi and the calibration was different to the dash.
