Hi Guys
A great time was had by all,and yes pics will be added when I get around to it.
It was great to meet our recent AULRO newbies,HarryW and DownunderSteve.
We met up in Wanneroo. We had myself,AgroJnr,Tiny,Taz,HarryW,DownunderSteve and friends of Tiny's in thier Praydoo.
We travelled onto Lancelin and met up with Shano,John and Frank.
We had a distinguished guest from LANDROVER UK in our party,AgroJnr(Adam) had his father in law Merve with him,Merve is a driver training instructor, spending all his time driving new landrover products around their off road tracks and training others how to drive,WHAT A JOB 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
After airing down at the sandhills we travelled 100m and DownunderSteve rolled a tyre off the rim,we think the culprit was a Staun with a loose locknut letting too much air out.Once the wheel was removed I got a truck strap and put it around the tyre tightened it and pumped the tyre up,the bead sealed quite easily.
We headed of to Wedge Island a pretty easy trip on sand tracks thru the Lancelin bombing range. After having lunch on the beach at Wedge we had a short play in loose moving sandhills.I was the first to get stuck, was going to go down a dune put decided that with soft tyres and a heavy load onboard it wasnt such a good idea, reversed or tried to in hirange with no CDL,she dug in    BLODDY TRACTION CONTROL.Taz gave he a snatch and I was mobile again.John mentioned his Rangie doesnt get bogged and then he was https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Then not to be outdone Connor needed assistance in his Praydoo, everybody rushed to his assistance https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
We then hit the beach heading north a great run,if only it was possible to travel the beach all the way to Cervantes. We headed inland as the tide was coming in and the beach is narrow. The inland tracks are tight, rockyand rough.Even with Frank charging thru like a bull in his F250 and Agro backing him up in the 130twin cab the scrub was thck and everybody got some scratches. There was a steep sandy section that was a bit tough,BlackBetty loved it,the CDL and Traction control working perfectly together.
The track got progressively rougher, and by time the tar was found south of Cervantes everybody had just about had enough of the rough stuff. We headed into town and got our cabins/set up camp at the caravan park.We were to head to the Pinnacles for sunset, but it was a 44Km round trip,Taz and family went everyone else had finished with driving.
We had a BBQ and LOTS,and in some cases VERY LOTS to drink after,a great social get together 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
This morning I took Deb and Lindsay down to the beach for a spot of fishing, there wasnt much happening till Deb hit the jackpot,a BABY BLOWFISH https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ I had a 12ft Beachrod set up and was using my 10ft with a brand new reel, bingo a big bite and the fight was on,10mins later and I land a stingray, great fight but he was returned. Not 5 mins later and it was on again, this time on the big rod,15mins later I landed the first blokes big brother, great fighters, but not my cup of tea.
It was then back to camp to packup and see the Pinnacles and head home.We shot thru via the HWY some of the others were heading back to Lancelinvia the hwy/gravel for another play on the way home.
I will put a few pics when I get a chance.
