Hey all

So I've installed the traxide relay kit (awesome bit of kit, highly recommend) and replaced the light switch because mine was well and truly burnt out. I've also checked all the fuses, ran a new signal wire from the light switch to the relay and replaced the headlight bulbs for new ones. I now have headlights that turn on consistently every time [thumbsupbig]

But now the headlights when first turned on will run for about 15-20mins and then proceed to splutter/dim on and off or flat out turn off for a short period of time and then work again for a min or so, then turn off/ rinse and repeat. I'm guessing by the consistency of the problem it's heat related since I've ran a multi around the circuit and all seems fine so something is cutting out but I'm stumped. Bulbs perhaps? Any advice would be great as I'm about ready to solid mount two marine torches and stock up on D cell batteries!

Cheers in advance
Dan

Hi,
Trigger the relay with 12V from the battery connection of the Traxide kit to eliminate/confirm a fault from the new switch/wire.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the fuse block. Didn’t see it till i removed the screws and looked at the back...

Thanks guys

I'll give both options a go.
I'm assuming Incisor you're referring to the fuse box above the trans and that perhaps there is a dodgy connection/damage etc? I replaced all the 10A fuses and none of the existing ones seemed to have any damage aside from age but I'll give it look :D

Cheers

Check your earth, needs to be a good solid point or you’ll have issues

all my fuses and the front of the fuse block looked fine

the back wasnt so pretty and you could see the melted and mangled fitting that the fuse leg was supposed to fit into but couldnt...

luckily the fuses for the other side s lights were okay so i wired up a traxide kit to it...

cheers

Headlights are an irrelevance anyway.
