Going to get flamed big time, I suspect, but TV is where cycling belongs in my view. B4 you all get started, I cycled for 20 years as an adult, but I did it to get around. I didn't wear it like a uniform. I wasn't trying to prove something. In today's traffic, there is no way I'd do it now, even if I had 750cc to help.

Quack.

No flaming from me , I understand where you are coming from, but I think the mentality has to change. It would be a nice alternative to have a cycle to work without copping verbal crap. Not every rider is a Lycra racer.

It seems highly unlikely that Froome will win the TDF 2018 as he has won 3 Grand Tours in a row, i.e. TDF 2017, Vuelta and Giro. Yes the Tour is going ahead but if any team has two positive cases (in a 7 day period) they will be kicked out, and that doesn't just mean riders, but team staff as well so physios, managers, coaches, etc.

For those of you wondering if the Ineos Grenadier cycling team's performance might be an omen for the Defender replacement they are designing, or maybe it's just me. It wasn't looking too good as they hadn't won a stage or a jersey and their defending champion Egan Bernal had to abandon the Tour, but in yesterday's stage Ineos team member, Michael Kwiatkowski won the stage and his colleague Richard Carapaz has taken the polka dot (King of the Mountain) jersey. With Australia's Richie Porte still in the mix for a podium finish.

It’s called “Le Taken”, about a spectator who took down a field of TdF riders on the first day.

Starring Liam Neeson as Tony Martin:
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money... but what I do have are a very particular set of bike skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you fix my bike now, that will be the end of it - I will not look for you, I will not pursue you... but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you... and I will make you dress my gravel rashed ass.

There was a cycle race in Brisbane today ( Tour de Brisbane), I was hoping to take my 80" to the Samford Show car show , would have been 1st car event I have been able to go to since September 2019 due to Covid. The Centenary Hwy & Western Freeway were closed from 5am to 9.30am , I needed to be at show between 9am & 9.30. There was no way I was going to leave home before 5am then sit around till 9am in the cold waiting for the gates to open, I could have taken another way but this would have added an hour or more to the usually trip. There is a perfectly good multi million bikeway running beside these roads but no they have to close the roads.:firedevil: So stayed home & watched the boring V8's with the two Red Bull cars way out front from the start & lapping half the field by the end of the race .

[emoji1303] Hey randlover we the only two Landy cycling lovers?Nope, but we're heavily invested in XCO, so Bec's race is at the top of my viewing list, the men's as well but I don't think Dan will get much air time.
And the Team Pursuit on the track is pure joy to watch.

Very tough gig for Ritchie, Durbo, Gigantes and Spratt. But the Aussie women look strong.

Was watching the cycling at the Olympics , could not work out how the Madison works & the announcer explanation for it made even more confusing , It was doing my head in by half race so gave up & started flicking channels trying to find something else. Dammed how they can work out with so many biked on the track who is winning .[bighmmm]

Yeah agree the older sounding guy doing the commentating was annoying……he was bumbling his way along.

Totally acknowledge they are sitting in AUS and can only see the same footage as us…..would prefer they just stick with what they know instead of guessing.

I was in Warrnambool for a week, came home yesterday, doing some data collection out on the ocean.

Was watching the Men's event 'live' on SBS on Saturday arvo till the 3 leaders went by the water tower at the old Fletcher Jones plant, 2k's to go.

Walked out the front of the motel to watch the finish............motel is 50 m away from the line.

Not much of a crowd and the 3 leaders seemed to take a bloody long time to do 2 k's.

Went back to the room and then it dawned on me that they'd started the race at 7 am and it takes something like 5 and a half hours and was all over long ago. So much for 'live'.
