Chaps,
When one removes the gear selector (to actually put grease on the cups/pivots - thanks again JLR), there is a small round seal between the bottom cup in the gearbox and the upper pivot.
It is more of a gaiter and about 50mm OD, 10mm ID and 15mm tall in a "top hat" configuration. Looks like its to keep the muck from below the tunnel out of the upper pivot.
I've searched high and low in manuals and on the interwebs and can't find it nor a reference to it. I'm pretty embarrassed not even to be able to name it properly, but it's like it doesn't even exist.
I'm trying to find a replacement and everyone want to sell me the whole stick & cover assy - which is not the way i see this reaching its conclusion.
