Right, next job on the agenda now I have a functional Perentie once more, is fix the leaking steering box. As I said in the WDYDTYPT thread, hopefully it's just a seal or a gasket.

Gave the box as good a clean as I could with degreaser, took the Landy for a spin, and then popped the bonnet to see if I could locate the source.

As per the photos (apologies but trying to get the phone down close wasn't going to happen), it seems to be coming out by one of the retaining bolts, and having looked at the LR workshop manual i've got this would lead me to think it's the top cover joint washer that is in need of replacement.

This seems a fairly easy job however I seem to recall reading somewhere about some clip or something under tension in the box and if you're not expecting it can give you a hell of a shock as it flies past your ear at great velocity and extreme proximity.

Any advice, information, assistance, part numbers (because the manual very helpfully doesn't give any and the parts manual doesn't make it easy to tell if i've got an Adwest or a Gemmer box, they both look the same) greatfully received...

Steering box has LC and 65 13 30 P markings. Google turns up nothing.
