It's about time someone put a proper JLR V8 in the Defender instead of all this blasphemous LS3 nonsense. I actually think that for under $300k it's a bit of a bargain considering how rare and special it will be. I mean, a Range Rover Sport SVR pushes $250k and will lose half of that value in 3 years.

I'd love to know more about the multimedia head unit they've used, it looks like it has a Land Rover logo on it which would suggest its in-house developed? Either way, I want it. In fact, a full parts list would be great.

I also think it's hilarious that a car that costs as much as this does, with a 400hp+ V8, is limited to 108MPH. Hard to know whether the limiter is factory fitter or a function of the basic laws of physics.

Giving it a relatively low artificial speed limit has the advantage that they dont go putting low profile tyres and big brakes on it. It also means they dont feel pressure to make significant suspension changes. It keeps it more of an offroader.....

It has upgraded brakes, springs, dampers, anti-sway bars - all of which will improve its on-road manners. I doubt much of it is in-house developed so I'm very interested to see a list of the various bits and pieces used. Companies like Twisted and Urban Automotive have been doing it for years with a lot of success, but factory endorsed performance upgrades always have a certain appeal.

This is quite unbelievable,.....Landrover (JLR) are going to produce a limited edition V8 Defender with 400HP?...I still can't quite believe it, but,.......can't wait to see it,.......if it happens,.....and I reckon if it is fair dinkum, they'll all be pre sold.
