I remember the Kittyhawk incident well. They came to Singapore after it happened, the African Americans tried to stir up trouble against white sailors in Sambawang, unfortunately for them a NZ frigate was in port, and when the African Americans tried to get the Maori sailors to join them against white Kiwi's and Aussies, the Maori's turned on them. Problem solved, the Americans limped back to their ship, not to be seen again. Those white hot heads amongst the Kiwi's and Aussies were told in no uncertain terms to stay out of it, let the Maori sort it out. And we did, and watched as they did. Ahhh, the good old days, I think.
