Just watched tonight's episode where Heather was over in the Pilbara WA.
The lady truck driver in the triple B only had one hand on the outside of the steering wheel while the other one was lazily placed on a rim on the lower part of the wheel. Is that normal practice?

Volvo FH 16 Globetrotter , 13sp auto, easier to drive than your landy. surprised she had 2 hands on the wheel.
Cant comment if its standard practice or not, prolly more for comfort than anything else
Cheers Ean

Two hands on the wheel because a female driver.
Everyone knows that, if a male driver, they've always got one hand on it [bigwhistle]

Would that mean it would be wise for a male driver to have a companion.... Solely for safety's sake[bigwhistle]

She was driving an 85 tonne truck with virtually one hand on the steering wheel, that's all.

Generally, since trucks started to be fitted with power steering the steering has required no more effort than a car, and the precision of it these days is usually at least as good as the typical car.
