just need to know where i could mount a recovery hook on the front of a '76 rangie, as i don't think the bar would be strong enough for a recovery.
if anyone has done this before it would be great for some info!!!
thanks guys
cheers,

You're not planning on getting stuck already are you ?
Wait until after the weekend https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ .
I've fitted hooks on the underside of my front rails but I've seen others brackets that fit on the sides of the rails in other threads.
Have a look here:

Disco1 is virtually the same as your RR.

lol, i got stuck the other day! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ i went out 4wding with a mate (he drives a 4runner with double diff locks and mud tyres...) i got stuck in a mud hole cause the tyres got clogged (road tyres  ) and had to get winched out cause the shackles wouldn't fit through the holes the front bar. the bar was alright to winch off, but i don't want to push it...
thanks for your help scouse! much appreciated!!!
cheers,
bryce
