Hi All
After owning a disco 2a td5 for many years I have just purchased a 2005 v6 diesel hse. A new brake booster was fitted just prior to taking delivery, the old one having oil in it,obviously sucked back from the vacume pump.I am concerned the new one will have the same problem. Is it possible to fit some kind of one way valve in the vacume line to stop this happening.

I believe that’s what the replacement includes.

There was a recall on these around 2009/10 so check that it has been done - as Tombie said supposed to have fixed the issue - however I have heard it can come back but they may have been the result of poor workmanship in the first case when the recall was done.

The previous owner tried the recall but was told the vin number was not included. I think the booster is an after market one,he got it from British off road. Does the booster its self have a non return valve fitted. I am in the dark when it comes to these things

This vehicle has recently had a 2011 territory motor fitted but had the original land rover vacume pump fitted because of some issue with the pipe.He is sending me the territory one and I will see if I can fit it my self. It sounds like it might have different fitting for the vacume hose. Does anyone know the difference,I wont be getting it for week or so.
