I'm looking for one or two different hard copy workshop manuals for taking on trips, and for having at home, and was just wondering if anyone knew of any good second hand auto book shops that might be around, preferably in Melbourne.

Are the Haynes ones good? How about the full on Land Rover workshop manuals?

I figure someone else on here must have looked for these at some point :)

Land Rover Workshop Manuals (http://www.automotobookshop.com.au/land-rover-c-25_56.html'sort=featured&page=1)

I found these...check out those extreme offroad manuals haha awesome! Damn $200 for the workshop manual, I'd rather not pay that much but I suppose that's the full real deal isn't it. Oh well, might keep an eye out on ebay or gumtree.

RAVE on a device of some type(in PDF format)

and a Haynes too.
Strangely I found my Haynes at a Repco for $30-40 or so .. just sitting on their manuals stand. I thought ... :BigThumb: ... wonder how long it's been sitting there.

RAVE is definitely better for descriptive explanations in some things.
Only problem is I don't have any electrical diagrams in my copy of RAVE(Haynes does).

Just buy the RAVE CD from the shop here and print out what you need.

It also has TSB's which supersede procedures in the manual, eg. timing belt tensions.

I have, sorry, had a genuine manual too as I do like paper, but just printed out the pages I needed from RAVE as jobs were undertaken.

I actually have the RAVE manual on an old cd rom I think, I should find that, that'd be a great thing to just stick on my phone as a PDF or on the cloud or both!

+1 on the rave , There are also some very helpfull you tube videos that show hands on most things the home mech would have a go at .

Why are you asking? RAVE. Dave ( Incisor, system owner ) even sells them. Just do it.
Load it onto any device as a PDF. Heck, you can print at Officeworks for less than a Haynes. I have nothing against Haynes, but RAVE is comprehensive, and written by the people who built the car.

Landrover toolbox by craddock spares on YouTube. Amazing tutorials and funny character. Especially when he’s got a fag hanging out of his mouth. Cracks me up.

Love him too. Not so useful if he hasn't done the exact job you are looking for, and of no use at all if you don't have internet.
