I've always had a soft spot for Vincent (and Chiko Rolls [wink11])

Might have to pass this on to Colin Chris,,, I'm sure he'd be interested in this [wink11] It might tempt him to get his out of the box.
I was watching a rather old bike yesterday in the traffic. Got no idea what it was, but similar looking style to this as it flew past,, fairly quietly, but very smooth sounding. Tried to catch it, but alas, the big barge couldn't get through the traffic [bighmmm]

And a modern evolution.
I have seen this (2016 model) in full flight at Willowbank during a SuperBikes event and it is awesome. The noise it produces is unreal. Unfortunately it suffered a mechanical issue which in turn caused it to catch fire. The rider basically had his crutch on fire flying down the main straight desperately trying to step off the thing at speed.
This is a web pic but I will see if I can find some taken on the day.

Phil Irving fettled the Cooper with Vincent engine used for hillclimbs and occasional circuit races by Lex Davison. The car was renamed Cooper-Irving as there was more Phil in the engine than Vincent factory.
One of my WA customers was restoring a couple of Vincent and bought some replica castings from the UK. He was appalled at what he regarded as their poor quality. Being a handy sort of chap he made his own patterns and had a local shop cast some that met his standards. Whole reproduction engines are available. Eyewatering prices.
Maybe of interest to classic motor cycle enthusiasts. Did you know an entire Manx Norton can now be assembled from reproduction after-market parts? They can be told from originals as modern casting and machining technology result in better fir and finish than a real one. A collector who lives not far from me has one of each distinct type of Manx. Would be worth a pretty penny if put up for auction as one lot.
