View Full Version : Low speed shudder after 2" lift

I had shocks, springs, offset caster bushes and damper fitted today but noticed that the car shudders and vibrates through the steering wheel on and off the throttle below 30kmh.

The handling is way firmer than before and the steering is much lighter but it feels like something is binding. It's on stock tyres and rims. They also did a wheel alignment.

I'm putting bigger tyres on this weekend. Anything I should check or look for while I'm there?

id be checking driveshaft and uni joints. lifting the suspension will put extra strain on them

Have a real good look at the front drive shaft and make sure it isn't binding or has crook uni(s) which will be more noticeable with a lift. It might be a 2" lift over std. but when compared to the sagged springs it replaces could be an effective 3-4" lift.

Also check the front wheel alignment, unfortunately many alignment 'experts' are absolute morons whose only toe adjustment is -2 when for the Disco it needs to be set at +2. Harsh but true. :(
