Morning all

I'm looking to get hold of a portable jump start battery for the 'just in case' scenario when I'm on my own and my cranking battery is flat.

There seem to be a few out there. Does anyone know what spec of starter would be required to start a Puma 2.4 TDCi engine?

400A sufficient or do I need more?
Any particular Amp Hours specification? I find electronics so confusing, even after years of tinkering.

Appreciate your opinions as always.

Following!
After having trouble yesterday with a flat battery I'm now looking also!

Are you after a old school type or one of those newer slim portable power units??

This type SCA 12V Jump Starter - 6 Cylinder - Supercheap Auto (http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/SCA-12V-Jump-Starter-6-Cylinder/395846'menuFrom=1021638)

Or this type Batteries & Accessories - Jump Starters - Matson - MA9000 | Blackwoods Xpress (https://www.blackwoodsxpress.com.au/electrical/jump-starter-lithium-matson-12v-0-75kg.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIh4fuwMyh2QIV1RqPCh0Vsg 5GEAQYAyABEgIuPvD_BwE)

It's got to be slim, Lemo. I have no room left in Monty for anything bulky!

Here's an option NOCO - 1000A Lithium Jump Starter - GB40 (https://no.co/gb40)

Look to be a good unit and #1 out of a ten review I just read. Top 10: What is The Best Lithium Jump Starter (https://www.autodeets.com/top-10-what-is-the-best-lithium-jump-starter-on-the-market/)

Anyone used one?

I bought one of these. They come in several sizes. Also very handy for recharging phones. Very compact and easy to use.

Spoke to a couple of mates and Lemo's NOCO - 1000A Lithium Jump Starter - GB40 (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/redirect-to/'redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fno.co%2Fgb40) is the go, so I ordered one. Arrives Friday.

I'm pretty chuffed with this - I can take out the HD Jump Leads I've got and put this in their place which might even leave me with a small but valuable piece of real estate in the tools cabinet I have on board. Doubtless I shall find something to fill it.

Thanks for your help. Brilliant as always.

The span on the leads is 23". Haven't measured the battery, must be close. Otherwise looks good value and it'llfit in the glove box.

I have one of those little lithium tyres I picked up in Jaycar. It kicked over a Volvo XC60 no problem.

But out I am now looking at an Arkpak battery pack so it can run my fridge.

I only paid $150 for the 1000A Genius Boost on eBay but $120 for something that will do the job represents good value.

Decent find!

I have one of these;

Thumper Portable Dual Battery Systems & Jumpstarters by Blue Apple (http://www.thumper.com.au/index.html#range)

Not really portable but is removable. Charging is with Smart Charger off 240v, in car charger kit (supplied with battery) or solar panel.
