This is probably the one millionth paint question on this forum. The previous owner of my 1995 Defender said the colour is Chawton White. However, I cannot agree with him. All my research tells me it should be Alpine White as Chawton White was not a colour used in that year. Any ideas who is right? I did go to a auto paint shop to get some touch up Chawton White but did not think it was a great match.

What is the paint code on the sticker?

The boxes opposite 'paint' & 'trim' are faded off or vacant. That code below paint 'BTR 0171' appears to be Landrover's part no for the whole plate. Saw it quoted on other paint threads but it appears unrelated.

My brain is malfunctioning today. I have now changed my initial post from Ivory to Alpine White. Could someone confirm that Chawton White was only used on later models.

Thanks, I could not view the British Code link as Safari could not open that page.

It looks like it's never been filled in.

Is there another paint code sticker elsewhere?

Was the car assembled in the UK or South Africa? Different countries, different codes, e.g., early Rangies assembled here had colours from the Peugeot range and which were not available in the UK.

My 1986 is 'ivory white' LRC354, but the paint shop couldn't find that...they came up with Chamonix white. I took a sill off and took it in for them to match. The recipe for Chamonix came up about right.

Not that I can see. Assembled in the UK.

Being a 95 model yours may not have this, but every door card I've taken off on mine has had this behind it.

Assembled in the UK.

Yep, the first few letters of the VIN gives the country of assembly.

If you haven't got this sorted out, give your VIN to a LR dealer & they can look it up. Or go onto TOPiX (if it's still running).

I checked out the Topix site but it appears only to be available for businesses that are in the industry.

Oh I had a photo of the Vin plate and while it was showing on the PM it must have not transmitted.
