Hi All,
Are the radiator hoses in a 4BD1 in a Perentie, the same as those in a 4BD1 Stage one / County?
I don’t want to order a set only to discover that they are different?
Thoughts?
Cheers,
GG

I don’t actually know - I figured that I would ask the knowledgeable on here before ringing my parts guy... [emoji3]

Yes - they are the same on my 110 County and my RFSV - I'm unsure why PhilB has posted "no" - he might tell us :)
Top Hose BYG2770
Lower hose AYG2464
each made by Mackay so there will be an equivalent Mackay #
Don't forget the Bypass Hose Isuzu P/N 8-94146297-0 :)

Agree - they are the same as 110 county ones but not sure about Stage 1 as they are a slightly different radiator.

Aha ... that's probably the reason he posted that they're not the same :)

The radiator outlets on the V8 110 are different to the Perentie IME

Hi Phil - you are correct, the radiator hoses on a Stage One V8 - are different to those on a 4BD1... (I couldn't remember if the 4BD1 came in a Stage One OR County though).
Hi Everyone else - thanks for your replies, I shall ring my parts guy this morning and see what I can get.
Yesterday I was checking the lower radiator hose (squeezing it) and it felt like it was breaking down on the inside of the hose. So I want to replace it - and while I am at it, I might as well get all of the other hoses. I'm not loosing coolant BUT I didn't like the feel of the lower hose..
Cheers,
GG.

Hi All,
Just to update and close this topic... My FFR has been driving great, the temp sits on about 80-82c all the time, no coolant leaks and the coolant looked to be in good condition.
However - I have a low coolant alarm that was sometimes going off when I initially started the car. The alarm would run for 2-3 minutes until the temp came up to normal and then go off.
I inspected the wiring, and inspected the coolant levels - Alien witnessed it and suggested that I check for an air pocket in the top radiator hose.
When I inspected the top radiator hose, it was fine - but when I inspected the bottom radiator hose (visually and by squeezing it) - I could feel the inside of the hose breaking up... It's hard to describe but something wasn't correct.
Hence this thread - so I purchased top, bottom, and by-pass hoses.
Last night I drained the coolant - you can see some crap in there. I am not too worried about the film - as this bucket is used for all kinds of liquids, so would not have been 100% clean before I used it:

I have a high water pressure at home (we need a restrictor value on the house to reduce the pressure - so I flushed the system (lower radiator pipe, water pump pipe, top of water pump housing).
I alternated between the 3 areas, using different pressures from the hose - and quite a lot of crap came out!! It was interesting watching the crap come out, the water colour change from green, to brown, and finally clear. [bawl]
Here is the original pipe - looks to be in reasonable nick, yeah?

And here is the hose sliced up:

The inside of the hose has a combination of dirt, rust scale and broken down rubber from the inside of the hose.
I installed new coolant - I realise that there will still be some water in the block, but I figure that the system is a hell of a lot cleaner than it was.
I will take it for a 1 hour test drive, to cycle the coolant throughout the system. And then the car should be good to go for Corowa & Cooma.
Cheers,
GG.

I had the same issue on my 85 110 with a 4bd1
Hoses almost crackled when I squeezed them when they were empty. Solid rust and gunk about 0.5 mm thick
I spent hours flushing block and pump, had the rad roded and serviced+ new hoses, all good now.
