Hi,
This is my first time on here and I'm not sure if I'm doing this right :?
We have a friend who has a 94 Landrover Discovery 3.9L V8. He has a problem with it, when the temperature reaches over 30 degrees his car starts to miss, it's like it looses power so he pulls over and turns the car off for about 30 seconds then restarts his car and the problem has rectified itself until it warms up again. Do you have any idea as to why this would be happening?
Thanks Blacky

Sounds like an overheating issue, how many k's ? has it had any engine work done before ?

Almost 100% certain it is the ignition module failing. Is located on the side of the distributor in the valley - gets real hot from the engine and real hot from the airflow through the radiator. The ignition module cooks and is more noticeable in hot weather. When the module cools it starts to work again - I used to carry some 2 litre bottles of water with me and splashed the water on the module when it started playing up to cool it down.

Replace module - easy - about $120 but not from rover. However will pack it in again when it gets hot again.

I moved my module to the area behind the left front headlight next to the coil - I think from about 96 Landrover actually did this.

yep, my vote is for the ignition module as well.
