I have had my Disco5 now for two weeks I’m having issues with fuel usage
I filled up yesterday travelled 274km towing our caravan with a average of 16/100 km
when we arrived at our distinction my fuel gauge is in the red, I filled up the tank which only took 45 ltrs to fill with a 85ltr tank it seamed rather odd
took the vehivle today to the local dealer and could not find any faults recorded
which makes it hard for them to diagnose the issue
i believe that the fuel sender or gauge is not displaying the correct amount of fuel in the tank
With normal driving I should get around 1000km to a tank
but my range is only showing less that 500km
any idea

It shouldn't take much for them sort that out. It will most likely be in the tank as you said. It's not an issue that will record a fault. They just need to drop the tank and sort it out.

Re the range; it is based on a rolling average consumption. So at 16l/100km you have a 500km range from an 80l tank (round numbers used).

Scott

PS .... I have moved your query to its own thread. It's confusing putting a different issue in that other thread about fuel dilution
