well at last the day has arrived and the disco is at Rick's having the 2inch lift done today, so looking to play this weekend, with the added ground clearance, anyone up for it. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

have to say one thing not impressed with TJM had the disco in at 7:30 yesterday to have the snorkel fitted only to have the car back at 10:00 with no snorkel   as they claim they did not get it in from Bris, today they phone me to say that they cant get one now and will only be possible next week not sure    Spoke to ARB they dont have any and are looking at week to get one in then another week before fittment. Does anyone know of someone else that I can try to get a snorkel done short of driving to Bris to get it done :?:

Thanks

Still here Mick just working and doing the usuals. Trying to get on top of all the slashing I need to do now the rain has stopped. Also cleaning up all the little bits on the Rangie so its respectable for the show. How is your rear bar coming along will you have it for the show? Must get stuck into the sliders for your car once this 4wd show is over.

Talk to you all soon
Justin

Yeah been pretty busy at work this week so not much time for much else. Had another test fit on Tuesday of the rear bar after Brooksy made some minor adjustments and it all seemed to fit pretty good. Now he just needs to add some supports underneath and it's done https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Will have it ready for the show and it should be ready that week. Going to look at modifying my mud flaps next week and generally tidying it up for show too....got to give it a good clean inside and out

Then it's on to the sliders!!!! Will speak to you about those the next time a see you or will call you and get some steel bought. What's easiest, you tell me what I need and I buy it from somewhere or do you know somewhere to get it from and I can come with you on the day? Don't want to put you out, but i'll be honest...wouldn't have a clue what to ask for at a metal supplier. You just tell me what suits you and I'll fit it in.
Is it something that can be put together over a weekend perhaps, in which case, i'll swing by yours with a few light beers and we'll get into it...again what ever suits you. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Had some design ideas on them too which I'll tell you about when we speak.

On the suspension side of things, I have asked a few other on the AULRO and D2au forums and got some useful info, but the bottom line is I think i'm going to have to just get on and do it in stages and find out for myself what is effected and what needs modified/adjusted. Might have to rent your hoist again down the track if you don't mind  Will leave the suspension just now though as I have a few other home expenses which must take priority....don't you find they always seem to get in the way of a good modification

Ahem, i'm here also
Unbelievably busy at work and getting home past 10 at night, not funny :x
Combine that to 7 days a week and i'm getting real depressed........
Especially as you guys are out having fun in the mud 8O
Mick, there is no way you can get your van up on a hoist at DR'd place with any beers involved, you need a supervisor - ME!!!!! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
On the bright side though, i heard yesterday that the technician i am sponsoring from SA got his visa, at last https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
That means in about two weeks i'll have a life back and can join you guys out and about 8) The x-box is getting sick of just commuting to work and back. The doof-doof machines and pavements are looking very tempting at the moment.
I'll see you soon out on the tracks

No worries I will pick up the steel etc I can make 75% of them using Kathryns Disco as a template then we will fit to your vehicle. Got my Mig welder in being repaired and should be back after the show. Will talk to you at the show about your ideas. Should only take 1 good day to fit to the car if I can make the rest before hand. Anytime you need the hoist just yell no problems. On the suspension front I think its better to do it yourself as no one seems to worry about ACE and I think we should modify the mounts as we discussed if your going to lift a vehicle you have to consider all geometry points we dont want to find out whilst on a hard trip that something will break due to not adjusting it to suit the lift??

Yep I agree, best to identify all points that may be affected and work around them from the off. When I'm ready to spend $ i'll get the springs first and then with your help we can perhaps put it on the hoist again and start designing/modifying mounting points etc.
Will talk to you more about this and my sliders at the show. Thanks again for your help to date, very much appreciated.

I'm still 'hovering'. I'm not a member yet so I don't post to much.

Will get to one of your meeting eventually, wanted to go last month but I was knackerd after work (bloody hot day, those who work in air-con wouldn't have a clue) and ended up in a semi-drunken state on the couch at home

Maybe next month.
