I'm getting a Shingleback bike rack (Shingleback Rack - Shingleback Off Road (http://www.shinglebackoffroad.com/shingleback-rack/)) and after chatting to Andy the owner, worked out that my towbar receiver protruded out from the crossmember much shorter than his (we both own a 130 with a tray).

So, anyone able to tell me what brand towbar they have, and how far the receiver protrudes past the crossmember?

I'm not at home to measure right now, but did have a problem with my Thule rack not clearing the spare wheel on the back of my 110. Bought an extension piece which goes into the towbar receiver, so the bike rack sits further out. I'm assuming you have a similar clearance problem.

G'day Ranga, my receiver sticks out about 220mm from the cross member. Hayman Reece tow bar.

Cheers,
Mick.

Maybe there is a different towbar for HCPU’s and Cab Chassis.

I think it may be different manufacturers make different lengths.

Cheers,
Mick.

Hayman Reece do 2 square box section towbars for the Defender, a 110 or Wagon and a Cab chassis one, the one for the cab chassis sticks out further.

Thanks, might give them a call and find out the difference.

Yeah, I've seen them. The bike rack has a long enough hitch, but I'd rather a shorter version hitch, and longer towbar which would handle the weight better I reckon.
