View Full Version : Spiral Cassette anything to do with rotary coupling?

I had the rotary coupling fixed as it was making a little bit of noise last week and on the work order from Land rover the only part I could work out was used for this was the spiral cassette. Had I known that the part itself was $700 I probably would have put up with it for a while longer.
Am I looking at the wrong thing, could I be on the wrong track, could this be from the transfer case work I had done replacing the seal?
Cheers Charlie

The spiral cassette is the thing that encloses and includes the wires that go from the steering column to the steering wheel to operate horn, radio buttons and all the other expensive useless gimmicks.

The spiral cassette & rotary coupling are the same part.
I believe they have gold plated terminals as it's part of the SRS airbag circuit - maybe that would explain some of the price  .
(Better ask for the old one back in that case https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ )

If that's on the car you just bought from Trivett, isn't it covered by warranty?
