New oilpumpcovers are unobtainable or go for crazy prices.
Mine is a little scored, some of the annodised alloy has worn away; I don't think grinding it to a smooth surface is a good solution as the alloy is soft and wear away quick.

A solution could be fitting a remote oilfilterkit, but that is quite expensive, about 250 pound sterling.

On ebay i found this stainless steel plate, 1,5 mm thick, which sandwiches between the oilpump an the oilpump cover, cost 39 pound sterling.
it should rstore the oilpressure an volume pumped to factory specifications.

Does anybody have good experience with these solutions or wants to share a horror story?

I doubt if you'll have much of a problem with a simple faced cover assembly, especially if you're running decent quality oil. Penrite 20W60 is my personal choice for somewhat worn LRV8's of that vintage, keeps the oil pressure up nicely. And there must be hundreds of old 3.5's and early 3.9's rattling around peoples sheds, shouldn't be too hard to find another one if you ask nicely.
