If these are my wading plugs, why are there hoses in them? Does this mean I don't have to worry about them if going to wade?
Just another bit of the vehicle I didn't do and I'm bamboozled by :)https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2018/03/98.jpghttps://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2018/03/99.jpghttps://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2018/03/100.jpg

Yes the hose`s and no need to remove them but i would make sure the hoses are not blocked [wink11]
Normally with the plugs they have to be fitted before deep water crossing`s , With the hose`s it is set and forget [thumbsupbig]

Well how about that, it's starting to look a little wet under there...is there no reason to take them off once in a while to make sure there's not a bit of oil in there or would it get pushed out through the hose if there was?

Yes take them off every now and then to check for oil leaking inside your timing / cover and Bell / Housing [wink11]
Depending how much hose and how high they go you could end up with a lot of oil in those hose`s and both t/cover and bell housing which would make a not so happy owner and car $$$$$$$$$[bighmmm]
