How to remove sunroof switch blank?

Sorry to bother y'all, but how does one remove the D3 sunroof switch blank?

I expected to tease it out with a slim thingy or screwdriver device, but can't seem to get enough purchase.

Is it fitted from the back and I have to remove the console?

Yes that's what I did. It has quite a few tabs. The console is quite simple to pull down.

Sorted. I found an online excerpt from the manual and went from there.

I am not overly enthusiastic however. I purchased a Carling 'like' switch and popped it in. It's a bit loose for my liking.
Still, I should be able to secure it more rigidly with a bit of thought.

And I erroneously thought that in the vein of my D2, the sunroof wiring would be there, just waiting to be tapped and used.
Not so. Still, fairly easy to run cable down inside the lining.
