Not a bad innings for someone who was supposed to die young. RIP.

Well done that man - for so many reasons! He did astonishingly well for someone with his condition too. The funny part is, he would have outlived the doctors who gave him his 2 year prognosis all those years ago....

And on Einstein's birthday funnily enough.

There's a great picture of him experiencing weightlessness on the 'Vomit Comet'.

Surely one of the bravest men that have ever lived.

Undoubtedly, but brave may not be the right word.
A man far to lateral to let emotions get in the way of a highly productive life.

A very humbling experience to hear him talk science and admit that you don't understand most, if not all of it.

RIP.

He died on Pi day. An amzing intellect. I have his book, 'A Brief History of Time.' I might finish it one day.

Very impressive man for what he accomplished - one of the most remarkable minds of modern times.
I think - he originally proved that black holes could not exist - then proved why they do!
He attributes his condition to his success because it forced him to use his mind. Read a few different books about him. One of his fellow researchers said that their could be a chalk board covered from top to bottom with mathamatical equations and he would get a phone call during the night from Prof Hawkings explaining where the mistake is - this of course was from memory.
A brief history of time is one of the best selling book - but is the book most likely not to be finished!
I was told that A brief history in time has been written twice - as the first edition was written for physcists but most physcists could not understand it!

My brothers step son actually served him beer while working at a pub in England (along with Rowan Atkinson)!

A philosopher to go with it.

Stephen Hawking shared a message to help those with depression. And it's truly beautiful. (https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/techandscience/stephen-hawking-shared-a-message-to-help-those-with-depression-and-its-truly-beautiful/ar-BBKe5xB?ocid=spartandhp)

My son is second year of Advance Sci majoring in physics. He and his mates were actually a little melancholy about it. Cheers
