Hi Guys,

The rear door (tailgate) seal on the D2 is letting quite a lot of water through.

The door fits well, shut gaps etc are good and the seal looks good and is still soft. The problem seems mostly along the top horizontal part of the door when I have sat inside and watched the leaks [bighmmm]. The water comes in between the door and the seal, not the seal and the body. I have tried placing 6mm diameter cord in the groove behind the seal to push it out (as mentioned in another thread) but it made zero difference. FWIW I gaffa taped across the top of the door during heavy storms recently and it didn't leak.

Any suggestions would be welcome as I have not encountered this before.

Cheers, Charles

Cheers guys, gutter perfect so don’t think that is problem. I will spend some time today triple checking any drop and hinge & catch alignment.

I had the same problem I went to Clark rubber and got a piece of round foam rubber about as round as your little finger put it between the seal and body the leanth of the roof. This worked very well for me cost me about $8.00 no gluing I sprayed water from the hose on the back of the car for about 10 minutes no water leak hope this helps if you need more info you can pm me .

Thanks Tombie. On closer inspection door had dropped a couple of mm at the top. A very small hinge and latch adjustment corrected this and seal successfully kept the water out after a carwash test :)
