I wanted to install a quality reversing camera on my TD5 90 and rear view camera on my camper van (Tvan). I wanted to site the screen where it wouldn't block my forward view and I wanted it to look good. I chose a Polaris system, which has a very nice touch screen.

I mounted the screen on a custom right angle bracket of 1mm stainless, which squeezes in between the foam top of the dash and the centre console, tight enough that it needs no fasteners (see pic). It is low enough that I can see the front of the bonnet over the screen. On advice from my guru mechanic (Justinc) I led the cable between the dash and the windscreen, the up the driver's side A pillar. I took off the hard lining at the rear on the drivers side and was able to gently nudge out the two fir trees and lift the headlining away sufficiently to feed cables to the rear, under the alpine light. After that it was easy to run the cables down to the back, down behind the rear window and speaker panels. A new hole for the cables to go under the car where they then went to the rear view camera, dead centre of the rear chassis member and woza socket (for the caravan rear camera) next to the 7-pin trailer plug. Another custom bracket for the reversing camera, mounted onto two existing unused 12 mm captive nuts. See second pic. The additional socket under the chassis member is an Anderson connection to the Tvan battery. Power, earth and reverse trigger cables went across between the fuel tank and it's guard to the reverse light on the LHS.

Not much info on reversing cameras on the forum, so I thought it might be of interest.137981137982

Ha ha! Doing the same job today on my defender. Packing for Cooma also so I didn't get it finished but I managed to run some wires. I have a Sony double din stereo so I just had to add the camera. I am hoping to squeeze my camera between the rear cross member and body.

I would like to run a seperate camera for my raaf track trailer so will probably need a video change over switch as the Sony only has a single input.
