Missing bolt in gearbox

It seems my gearbox has a has lost a bolt ? It had a service when the TC was fitted and I am guessing there should be a bolt there. Dark now, but think this is where you fill it ?

Am I in imminent danger of seizing up the gearbox ?

That looks like the wading plug hole. One puts in a plug (bolt) before entering water. There's a location in the bell housing to store the plug when not in use. Look in the owner's handbook.

If you have a diesel, there's likely to be another wading plug location in the timing case cover.

The bolt is not a concern[bighmmm] but that oil leak is a concern[bigwhistle]

Being a TD5 the threaded hole is for the timing pin to go into to lock the crank shaft at Top Dead Centre on number 1 cylinder( used to time the camshaft correctly).
TDI motors(Discovery 1) has the wading plugs mentioned.
The leak also referred to may be the fuel regulator, mounts RHR of the head above the starter motor(common issue).
