View Full Version : Defender Fuel Tank(s)

Hello

I am looking at my options for making some fuel tanks and or water tanks.

I have seen a set of drawings on this site for sill tanks fort my 110.

Does anyone have any drawings for the 45l tank which fits in the between the main tank and the filler?

I know this doesn't answer your question but if i had a 110 i think i'd struggle to go past the shingleback sill tanks (not available for a 90)

Shinglebacks tanks do look good! Would happily buy one if loaded with money! (to be working would help too).

However, I can fabricate my own out of steel/aluminium/stainless.

I also want the extra filler tank.

throwing it out there. in last months ILRO mag a chap installed a series 60ltr tank under the drivers seat. It sat lower than the floor of the cabin and was above the chassis rail. It looked reasonably protected (no less than a sill tank). It was custom build if i read the article correct. If you are handy enough to build your own this might be an option. Necessitates moving the relays and harness to an under cubby box (i.e. the X box from Mulgo).

I had thought about cutting into the drivers seat area when making a sill tank. I think that might be the way to go with that.

Looking at making a new centre console with fuse box etc located at bottom. Ta

Maybe call Triumph Rover spares and see if they have a 2nd hand one off a wreck at a reasonable price. Or even a very cheap damaged one that you can repair if you have the skills.

Happy to make my own. Cannot see the point in buying one, damaged or second hand unless the same price as the metal! Thanks
