An area dedicated to collecting and displaying historic photographs of Series II Land Rovers in Australia in the early years (1958 thru 1971). If you know any info on the photograph please include it in the post.

This is the surveyor's ute on a geophysical survey, camped at Haydon, between Normanton and Croydon, in 1963. The surveyor's helper, being somewhat lazy, had a habit of grabbing any full jerrican for their spare fuel, rather than going to the trouble of filling it out of the tanker. One day he grabbed the cook's supply of kerosine.... The Landrover did not run too well after they refuelled in the field.

My 1958 Series 2 at the Mt Garnet (NQ) bridge in 1963. Queensland used to specialise in these long, low level, single lane bridges.

State Library of SA have pictures of the Bluebird land speed record attempt with Land Rover in the pictures, can only view at the library.

I took the Pilchers Ambulance body off temporarily.
I can put these here because TPNG was an Australian Territory at the time. Similar to the Northern Territory

After looking for some Series II pics online to help when I restore my single cab.

I found some at the State Library of Victoria website, knowing I would be in the city I requested to view the pictures in person.

The Library staff where awesome, they had the albums out and the pictures book marked for me on my arrival. (I had to book a viewing of the albums).

I was informed the pictures where out of copyright (also listed as this on their website) and they were happy for me to take pictures of the photos or place a request for them to be digitised for me. In hindsight I should have had them all digitised for everyone to benefit.

Just found this old slide.
I have it labeled "On top of Mt Kosciusko" back in 1967 when one could drive there.
No its not snow and does it still look like this? I have not been back since.

This was my Series 2 diesel around 1965. Towed a caravan around the NW of WA around the same time. I later converted it to a hard top, after have a canvass back for a year or so.

Pick up some old slides, in the process of scanning and came across this one , 1972 Flinders Ranges - Brachina Gorge. The Kodachrome holds up well !
