Seems to be a massive rise in the incidence of java based *coin trojans that use your computer to make other people money

they are mainly activated by web pages

ALL operating systems that support java are affected, that includes, windows, linux, MacOS and many many more.

if you don't have something proactive in place i whole heartedly suggest you use something that does

I never look at pages which refer to bitcoin, etc., but I do have Java installed for a few apps.

it's not obvious and often they dont mention bitcoin.
i found one last month, i was looking at a tourist website. guided tours of the local town.
very sneaky

Inc, do you have suggestions for the users of the various platforms? We have macs here, I wouldn't know where to start looking for a gizmo to weed those things out.

i dont think AV will pick it up.

some do

sophos home premium does

$70 a year for up to 10 computers or devices

good on macs and pc's

how does that work, cause its legit java?
