Well, after 2 yrs planning and an obscene amount of money spent on vehicle prep, it aint happening. The reforming of the monsoon over the last few weeks has closed the roads north for at least the next 6weeks so the locals tell me.Will still be heading off Monday to Cooktown to do some fishing, which is on at the moment due to them recieving 400mm of rain in a week, but thats about it. Creb track will more than likely be still closed especially with this cyclone forming at the moment, so I'll be lucky to even need to play with the little lever on the whole trip.As I have organised several other parties for the trip, I cant reschedule either, so we will just have to go anyway and make the best of it.I am considering heading west after Cooktown and maybe going out to the Isa and Lawn Hill as a substitute, but there wont be much mud out there!!
Anyway, will still be a good trip and catching up with the sister after a few years is always a hoot.Better start planning for next year, after I cry into a dozen or so beers tonite.

To help you look on the bright side, while in Cooktown, get yourself along to the fish & chip shop down by the wharf. Their breaded coral trout must be the best fish & chips in Oz.
So good, we even did a detour on the way back from Cape York to have a second helping. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
