Their is a soloniod on the converter that opens the gas flow. Should it be wired up to the positive or negative side of the coil or am i totally confused :? . When it comes to things electrical this would not be an unusual situation for me! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Thanks.

There should be one wire going to it and you wire it up to the positive as it should earth by itself. for safety you need to have it wired for when the ignition comes on only. Some systems have a timer that cuts off the power if there is no flow after about 5 seconds when you turn the ignition on. This is also a safety device in case of a crash ie ign on no vacuum. Depends on the age of vehicle.
I have probably confused the hell out of you but it is not a straight forward matter.

G'day Sloyd.

LPG wiring on a carby car is very simple, but you must know what you are doing. There is a wire that should run from one of the ignition coil terminals, to the lpg control box. This control box then opens up the gas-supply soleniods only when it recieves electric pulses from the coil. If the wire runs from the coil, striaght to the solenoid, then the valve will always be open wether the motor is running or not. This then bypasses one of the very important saftey systems with the LPG set-up. If you are not sure, you should really get someone around to have a look. As i said, there are not many wires, but if they are put the wrong way around, you could potentially be sitting on a very large bomb.

Not to be too big a "depresser of DIY", but my advice to you is to go to see a LPG specialist installer, accredited to do any repair safely and correctly.

Don't mess about with this stuff.

Wire is negative on coil to lpg controller then a wire from controller (marked as lockoff or similar on controller ) then to converter solenoid (lockoff).
DIY lpg is simple if you know what you are doing, i have converted 2 rangies without any problems and have had both certified.

Yep the last post wz rigt the wire goes to the neg on the coil,I'v run mine from neg coil to switch a relay and then to the solaniods,easy to do.

hard part is tuneing the lpg A F ratio
