Hi All,

Got my front hubs/swivels axles apart today, no oil in one swivel, and very little in the other. The sub bearing was buggered on the side that had no oil.

Anyway, so I'm down to just the axle housing, and I noticed a seal there that I didn't realise would be there, so I guess I ought to replace it while it's apart. (see pic)

I'm guess there's no real need to use a double lip seal here, but happy to be convinced otherwise, so any wisdom from anyone ?

Also, does any know the part number for this seal from a brand name like Kelpro ?

Thanks
John

All you need is the ID, OD & thickness and any bearing supplier will carry them, in fact, take in a sample.
Remember they will be Imperial dimensions (although a lot of seals are just converted to metric dimensions).

Axle Case Oil Seal to 80/81 - OE Manufacturer - Paddock Spares (http://www.paddockspares.com/217400g-axle-case-oil-seal-to-80-81-oe-manufacturer.html)

Interested to know who Kelpro are....a quick google finds product at Autobarn, Repco etc. and Motospecs are maybe the distributor. I wonder where the product is made .......?

ColinThe double lip seals I bought from Repco are Kelpro branded, it took them a few days to get them in. I'll try the local bearing shop.
