View Full Version : Jumped out of 5th

For the first time the R380 jumped out of fifth gear when cruising at 100 today. I wasn't accelerating, so no excess revving when it happened. I put it back in and kept going with any other issue.
So... what might have caused this, and is there anything I should do about it?

Did it get bumped? Check the gearstick is bolted down (15mm nyloc nut at the base of the gearstick) and check that any tunnel insulation material has not moved and hindered the full operation of the gearstick movement.
When was the oil last changed?

Thanks mate, I'll have a poke around. The oil was changed about 6,000km ago.

Hard to tell, but don't think so.

I dont have an answer to the problem but if you flick Dave Ashcroft an email he usually responds quickly with the right advice.

Come on Ranga....Sure it wasn’t a dream ending with an auto conversion.
