Good morning gentlemen.
We want to go away on 4th June towing a 25 foot van. The car has just decided it wants to have a suspension fault. The car won't obey the Up and DOWN settings and most times turns the light on and says "Normal suspension only" I need the up and down to pick up the towball and to disconnect the van from the car.
The fault codes I got this morning are as follows.
PO407
PO45D
P1623
PO191
PO625
PO489
P2290
Is anyone able to read and understand these codes and point me in the direction so I can have them fixed. We want to do over 10,000kms travelling to Darwin and then over to the east coast.
Thanks in advance.

Those codes don't appear to be suspension-related. Did you retrieve them using a generic diagnostic tool or one that reads LR-specific codes?

If the normal height only message occurs after a couple of minutes then there's a good chance that the compressor is failing to fill the reservoir quickly enough so will soon get worse causing the suspension to lower to the bump-stops. If you have to drive without getting it sorted then I suggest that as soon as the vehicle levels after start-up that you remove the engine-bay 20A suspension system fuse to prevent lowering and the passenger compartment 5A suspension system fuse to stop regular warning messages which can get quite annoying.

A couple of the codes indicate an EGR problem so you might want to get the EGRs checked.

Thanks Graeme. I had the EGRs replaced and fitted emulators.
I was unaware it had a reservoir tank so does that need cleaning or is the pump failing?

Pumps do crack on the end plate. A easy fix. Remove and glue...or purchase a new top.
You could have a leak in the pipe work...you need to do a bit of investigating.

Perhaps some soapy Water in a spray bottle and spray pipes, airbags, compressor.
Need to know actual codes first. A web search should tell, you what each one means

Good luck

Thanks Chilly. I'm going back to the mechanic tomorrow for further investigations and your suggestions will be very helpful. [bigsmile]
