i'm off to our friends cattle property near boonah which is south west of brisbane, the property backs onto lake maroon. will be going out there with a couple of mates and there families (1x tojo, 1 x nissian). this is our fourth easter in a row for us all, it looks like it becoming a tradition.

its tops, a couple of thousands acreas to ourselves, no camping fees, a big lake for the canoe, tonnes of fire wood and the dogs can run around without leads.

Jenny's folks own the "Black Queen" bottle house at Lightning Ridge. They stay there over the winter period every year and Cobbity (Sydney) for the rest. We go up there and open up every Easter and do the Goat Races thing, etc, etc. Great place to be.

Here's the website I threw together for them: http://www.blackqueen.net.au

camping at easter......eeek....

hmmmm ... yallakool at bjelke-peterson dam will be about the closest place to brissy that wont be packed to extremes i would imagine. about a 3hr drive for you. not much bush walking adjacent to the dam but plenty in the surrounding district.

I think I'll be sitting on may ar$e drinking beer watching the kids get sick eating Chocolate 8O 8O 8O

I've been all over the place last few weeks - and I'm off to Tassie for 4 days later this week - up to Canberra over the Anzac break and probably a few days in Sydney in between.

So a few days bludging at home seems in order.

Looking forward to reading all about the mischief you guys get up to!

I'm going on the LROC trip to Manar park, never been before but it's got four wheeling so that's enough to amuse me for a couple of days https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Plus 2 cartons of beer, ****load of tucker and hopfully some decent rubber fitted to ol' bluey. I'm on my own so there's plenty of space for beer https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

 hmmmmm, easter, tis a whole month away yet, depends on a number of things ,like cash flow as to whether thumper is rego or not, then that would put the variable on which 4by is available to use (thumper or tojo),so as yet no plans for easter, however may take a cruise out and meet weeds and his mob out at maroon,if there is an invite floating about there somewhere (hint hint  ) https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ 8)

Mate I've been like a lizard drinking for the last month or so, just to make things look nice for Mum and Dad at Easter. Spent the last two w'ends leveling and digging holes for a deck out the back, 4.5m x 9.0m, DAMN MY BACK'S SORE. I think I moved about 1 1/2 ton of dirt just this Saturday with a shovel, and I still gotta empty it out of the trailer
Second load mind you 8)
Plus getting the babies room ready. When's yours due :?:

Good one! Actually the same as anyone else going away for Easter, but less clothes. Wondering how we will go as I am planning on just the County with three adults and three kids - got an extra one since last year. May have to take the trailer, especially if we decide to take the bikes.

G'day All, I will be at home working flat out on 172-562 my S2A 109" Lightweight Workshop truck (RAEME Electrical repair it needed a complete rebuild from top to bottom!!), I promised a Vietnam Veteran a drive of this vehicle in August 2006 (40th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan), it is coming along very well at the moment as long as it doesn't rain on my days off (I only work a 4 day week 8) ) I can't post pix I'm a real dummy when it comes to that, and unfortunatley for me I will be at work on Monday not too many public holidays for Registered nurses, but I will still enjoy the break, probably spend some of the time getting ready for Anzac Day that is painting tyres etc etc anyway what ever you all get up to have a good time, and be safe doing it cheers Dennis

I'll be at the 2006 National Brass Band Championships held in Brisbane City for the weekend of easter.
I'm playing my usual position as Bass Trombonist with my band, The Bundaberg Municipal Band No. 1.

For anyone in the area, events are running all weekend, with the parade of bands on Sunday morning starting at 0800HRS.

The Easter Goat Races is a fantastic four days of fun & shouldn't be missed at least once in your life.

I took an LROC club trip of 10 cars there in 1998 & was very memorable especially the trip out to Grawlin & the opal mines there & a character called "Ducky", the open style tin pubs are great.

I must go again soon.

I'm running a trip to my farm outside of Orange for the Sydney LROC, just some camping & a play in the surrounding state forests etc.

Hopefully lots of drinking around the camp fire & some great campfire cooking.

As long as theres not hordes any one at a loose end is welcome to join us.

Cheers
