Put about 100 bricks in no particular order in a closed room with an open window. Then send 2 or 3 candidates in the room and close the door.

Leave them alone, and come back after 6 hours and analyse the situation...


If they are counting the bricks: Put them in the accounts department.

If they are recounting them: Put them in auditing.

If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks: Put them in engineering.

If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order: Put them in planning.

If they are throwing the bricks at each other: Put them in operations.

If they are sleeping: Put them in security.

If they have broken the bricks into little pieces: Put them in information technology.

If they are sitting idle: Put them in human resources.

If they say they have tried different combinations, but not a single brick has been moved: Put them in sales.

If they have left for the day: Put them in marketing.

If they are staring out of the window: Put them in strategic planning.



If they are carefully peering under each brick to see what is living underneath: Put them in the environment team.

And finally –



If they are talking to each other and have not yet noticed that there are bricks there: Congratulate them and put them in senior management!

Funny, given enough time I'de take almost all those options with the bricks,
Start out by counting them, then checking out if there's anything living under them. Then I'd lay them out in some form of strange order, while recounting them, (multi tasking here), I'd sit idle for a while, stare blankly out the window then probably go home for the day.

The only other thing I may add is that I'd most likely throw a couple out the open window to collect on the way home 8)

me too i'd probably do the same as you except i would build a sofa out of them so i could stare blankly out the window before i fell asleep
