The instructions don't show how to remove the "floor console top finisher", that is in the Workshop Manual. If you knew how to do that, the instructions don't look too hard to follow.

Exactly Ron.

I'm a veteran in pulling D3 and 4 consoles apart but I'm loathed to do it to the D5 without some hints. Not least to avoid losing the clips and have them rattle around for the next 4 years!

I'll give it a go on the weekend and post a "how to" if I get it done and nothing if I fail miserably.

You're more game than I am, with the interior the most adventurous I got with the D4 is replace a door card.

I have the service manual, all 15800 pages. They are available if you do a search and my source emailed me a download link. I was really after the Recovery Manual and service information neither of which are in the user manual. The user manual doesn’t even tell you how to release the park brake which is automatically applied after 10 minutes even when in neutral. The same I think applies to the handbrake.

I could send the relevant pages but I expect there would be a few as each section appears to have links to another section.

Their solution is neat but it’s a lot of work to neatly route a cable 200mm

Will the phone holder take a phone with a protective case?

Thanks Greg.

I have a part copy of the manual in Italian but I struggle with English as it is [bighmmm] so its of little use. Any chance you could you send me the link in a PM?

The cradle will only the phone, no case.

Cheers,

Mark

Search Flea Bay for "L462 manual" then after paying ask for an email download link.
I received my CD copy from Lithuania today.
Its a bit rough, the Recovery Manual pages were out of order with some repeating but I used the print to PDF command to resequence the pages before printing.
So far I've found everything I've looked for.

Update.

LR dealer sent me the section of the workshop manual.

While I'm sure I could do all of what is required I'm not keen to do it on a 2 week old D5 (which is a company car and not strictly mine), and from experience with the D3 and D4 I know it is very easy to lose those clips!

Also not convinced that the cup holder tray would still slid in/out without a hitch.

LR Dealer agreed I could get my money back.

I did look at the clipon bracket (used this brand on the D3 and D4) but I don't like where it mounts. Going to look for an option that mounts to the hard plastic on the RHS of the dash next to the pillar.

I looked at the Brodit clip for the L494 RRS for left or right side of the centre console (which looks the same as the Clic-on one). Brodit customer service says it won't fit the D5, but I think it is still worth measuring up as it would be a neat solution. Anyway, my car is not here yet so it will have to wait another 4 weeks or so before I can do that.

I've purchased one of these to go on the RHS.
