141003 141004 141005 141006 141007

The vent appears not to be a factory fitting.
It is a Australian made vent used in boats and trailers.
The spring arrangement on the ones I fitted to my 101 Landrover many years ago is a single piece of spring wire from the frame of the vent to the middle of the vents door.
The spring wire is shaped with a curve so the vent will either snap close or stay open.
Without a sample and the correct type of spring wire on hand it would be diffficult to figure out the correct shape to get it to work correctly.
They are moderately priced to buy new and any trailer manufacturing place which builds horse floats, racing dog trailers etc would be able to order them in for you.

Looks like Boltons were a bus company, finished up in 1989
Boltons (bus manufacturer) - Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boltons_(bus_manufacturer))
Bolton’s – BCSV (http://bcsv.org.au/vm/boltons/)

You just need to find someone running a Boltons bus........

Best of luck,
